Dear Hurting Heart,
I know you want to leave.
I know this life is difficult and you feel things will be so much better if only you were… I know how it takes every bit of strength you have just to paint on a smile and pretend you’re OK and to hide how much it hurts and to act “normal”. You have attempted to “be strong.” And in that attempt, you have become numb to your emotions and things just do not go in your favor. Tried of asking yourself why? So sick and tired of being sick and tried? Thinking about suicide?
I can understand that you are exhausted.
Although, I am not standing in your shoes and I do not know what is going on in your life—I’m asking you to stick around!
I’m asking you to stay; to endure your incredibly painful now because I can see your glorious, blindingly beautiful then, if you do.
If you stick around your giants will shrink.
The things in your life that seem so important and momentous will not be. As your perspective changes, so does your priorities. Therefore, what was major to your thought process now will not be in the future. Take the time to identify how important things are and attempt to think logically about every situation.
If you stick around, you will see just how big the world is.
You will understand how much hatred, weakness, and insecurity some people have that impact others and those around them. It is important to prioritize your thoughts and what is important to you and you life verses what is important to others.
If you stick around and don’t commit suicide, you will hear that song that will change your life and you’ll dance to it like no one’s watching (and then not care that they are).
You will began to develop your authentic self and embark on a journey of loving who you truly are. As the song states, “ And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance.”
If you stick around, you will hold babies and see movies and laugh loudly and you’ll fall in love.
This is not the end. You have a life to live that is so fulfilled with many goals and dreams to accomplish. There is so much more for you to do. Know that this is not the answer and although things are difficult now, it will get better.
If you stick around and don’t commit suicide, you will study and learn and grow, and find your calling and find your place.
Life can be confusing with so many factors that impact our daily lives; however, by sticking around and learning from each situation, you have the opportunity to live your best life.
You have a life to live!!!
There will be other things in life: disappointments, heartaches, regrets, and mistakes. You will screw things up and be let down, you’ll face terrible pain, and you’ll wonder how you’ll ever make it through. In the mist of all your thoughts, you have to remember you can make it. You can Overcome this too!!
So I guess this is just a reminder, from someone who sees what you may not see from here; the future, one that will be a lot better with you in it.
Stay. Hang on. You are loved. Things will get better.
This is not the end. Trust me.
But whatever you do…
Please, stick around…because you can.
